BEARS Points system

1) Can anyone tell me who is going to be looking after the points this season - 2017
2) Can somebody confirm how the points are awarded in the BEARS Championship Classes, specifically do we use the final place positions and subsequent points awarded or do we use our own class for example Bears F3 class I would have scored 2nd place points which I think is 12 points, overall in one race I finished in 6th position and would be awarded 4 points
3) Do we think that the Bears classes should be broken down in the results system to show F1, F2 and F3 classes
4) In 2015 somebody posted the points awards as 1st -15 points, 2nd -12 points, 3rd - 10 points, 4th - 8 points, 5th - 5 points, 6th - 4 points, 7th - 2 points and 8th 1 point, is this still correct
5) I need a corrected position after being sent out in error in the wrong event at Mallory, who is going to complete that

Dave in response to your post:
1) Championship points tables are compiled by Christine for the solos and Steve for the 3 wheelers, standings will be posted after each meeting.
2) As you surmised the points in BEARS should be split into F1, F2 and F3. (These currently aren't picked up as separate classes by the timekeepers so will probably have to be sorted manually after the event).
3) As above the BEARS should be broken down into 3 sub classes
4) Points are 1-15, 2-12, 3-10, 4-8, 5-6, 6-5, 7-4, 8-3, 9-2,10-1 (down to 10th place. NB there are a few exceptions in the Pre 48s and the Pre 58 sidecars)
5) Don't think that you can. Any objections or complaints with timekeeping need to be raised within 30 minutes of the results being published. Ultimately the decision to present yourself for a called event must go to the rider, having spent the weekend in the paddock the announcements for every race did give 1st call, 2nd call and final call.
Regards
Mark

Hello Mark, thanks for the response, very helpful
In response to the wrong race issue, I went to assembly on the first call as usual, I lined up in my grid position then was ordered to to the line by the official on the gate as explained, I went to Carole in the office straight away and told her about the problem. I also spoke to her daughter at teh end of the meeting who apologised and said that somebody had said that I would be awarded a position based upon my times posted
This was absolutely not my fault, I responded to the instructions from the people on the gate

Hi Dave
You didn't speak to me as I wasn't in the office all weekend other than Saturday morning. I was in assembly and in race control all weekend so how could you of spoke to me about this when I have no control over the point situation and I would have pointed you in the right direction if you had spoke to me about this. At the end of the meeting I was off the track and I wasn't in the office at the end of the day said goodbye to my mum and let before the last race.
As I am Carole's daughter

Hi Dave, First of all I am sorry if you feel you were sent out in the wrong race, the assembly area is very hard to do and as a lot of riders do not come to the area until last minute I can understand where the confusion could arise if you arrive early. The volunteers we have doing this job will get better as we go on and when they get to know you all they will recognise individuals and notice something is wrong, they did a fantastic job as we were under pressure to get all of the races in following several incidents. I cannot understand how you could have arrived that early for your race on the first call as they are not given until previous race has gone out. You previously stated there were incorrect races called and if this were so the riders in the race you joined, and the race you didn't join would also have got it wrong. You also stated that you noticed you were out with the wrong riders yet you continued to complete the race, you could have come in and then joined your own race. In regard to the points, regretfully these cannot be altered once results are published, this would also be unfair to the riders who completed the race.
Wishing you a future successful season.

The girl in the pit lane (who was on her own apart from a male marshal working the gate) I assumed was Carole's daughter, she has a piercing in her eyebrow if that helps identify her but I dont want to give her any grief
I went to assembly at first call for race 33, I was not early, I went on first call like I always do. Race 32 had already completed the sighting lap, the gate was closed
I was asked what race I was in and stated race 33. I was told that they were already on the grid and that I had to line up at the rear which I did
Apart from three or four bikes that I passed (and did not recognise) I chased the others by the time I realised something was wrong the race was nearing completion
I spoke to Carole in the race office (who was on her own) and handed my transponder in and told her about what had happened, she already knew
After i packed up, I went to talk to the girl on the gate and she fully apologised and said that she had called her mistake through to somebody and that something was going to be done, I
was understanding and as she explained she had notified someone of the error, I told her not to worry about it
I have already obtained my lap times from the transponder even though they were not shown in the results for either 32 or 33
I have no interest in anyone getting trouble, I just want points awarded for my efforts, I was not to blame, there are ZERO instructions about what to do in the event of mistake like this, this was not my mistake, I told the person that I was in race 33 and had lined up in my correct grid position 7, my number was clearly visible in correct size on the fairing, it was just a simple error

I never hear the tannoy when it concerns me, there is always a two stroke clearing its throat through the vital words. I can`t hear conversation through my crash hat . I can`t be on my own with this and there is no cure for it. So what I do is get to know the two races before my race , then I don`t need to hear the tannoy. If I then miss my race its my fault, as it was your fault Dave , you are not in the office at work and can`t blame things on the temp. These people try to help us but don`t have a glass of milk and a wet wipe for us. If you need that then the nearest you can get is to ride a sidecar, A good passenger will feed you help you get dressed. and tell you when you missed a gear or an apex.

Which part of this do people not understand - the announcements for the races were all over the show with race numbers being changed repeatedly on the sunday, I did not imagine this, everyone around me was commenting and shaking their heads
I did not go out in the wrong f####g race by my own error - I went to assembly, lined up at my grid position marker then was instructed to go to the line despite me telling the person on the gate I was in Race 33
As I had a technical issue in race 1, I did not get out
By the end of the weekend I had paid for four races, and only got points for two, one was a technical - stuff happens, the other was the organisers cock up
I have my lap times from HS, surely there is a mechanism to rectify this sort of problem
Incidentally there is also a 600cc Ducati running with a yellow plate indicating it is a 500, it is entered as a 600cc Pantah so should be in the 750 class as far as I am aware, this also needs looking at

Dave, I sense your frustration. I do not see how we can come to an amicable resolution over the forum. There is a BHR committee meeting on Wednesday 10th May at which you are entitled to attend (as is any member of the VMCC) and put your issues to the committee for discussion and hopefully find a way forward on this.
Details: Wednesday 10th May 2017 at the Nags Head Public House, Wilne Road, Sawley, NG10 3AL at 7.30pm
(Any member of the VMCC is entitled to come to committee meetings which are held once a month, just bring your membership card along with you)
