Re: 2018 season/Festival
Just to clarify. for those more 'seasoned' members of the VMCC, they will recall the days when the Festival was held at Brands Hatch. I will stand to be corrected, but I believe the Brands Festival was held under an ACU permit, with racing on the Sunday. When the Festival was re-booted and run at Mallory, it has always been run without an ACU permit, but insured independently with similar if not the same safeguards that the ACU package offered. There are two exceptions to this, the Sprint, held as a demonstration event on the Sunday, has been and I believe will continue to be run under an ACU demonstration, ie non-competitive permit, there are also additional safeguards provided for officials and marshals above the standard insurance package. As with racing, it is expected that if entrants wish a higher level of insurance they will pursue it themselves.

Yes Kim, your were correct.
I remember Brands festival of 1,000 bikes in 1996. The racing was on the Saturday, father broke both machines Saturday morning (nothing changed over the years
), and so with nothing much to do I went out and marshaled the parades the next day at my first ever meeting.
